Aaron Lewis was born in Rutland City (Vermont) in 1972 and is a musician and songwriter. He grew up in Longmeadow (Massachusetts) and began his musical journey by joining the band J-CAT. He went on to make a name for as the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and founding member of alternative metal and hard rock band Staind. Formed in 1995 in Springfield, its original line up consisted of Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist and backing vocalist Johnny April, and drummer Jon Wysocki. They were influenced by many renowned acts such as Aerosmith, Alice in Chains, Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Pantera, Korn, Machine Head, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, and many others. They’ve released 7 studio albums, 1 live album, 1 compilation album, 3 video albums, 19 music videos, 25 singles (5 of which topped the charts), and have sold over 15 million records worldwide. Staind went on hiatus in 2014 after which Aaron started to focus on a solo career in country music and has released 2 studio albums, 1 EP, 8 music videos, and 6 singles. He’s collaborated with Fred Durst, George Jones, Charlie Daniels, and he’s been nominated for 2 CMT Music Awards.
